Discover the creative world of the Midway Artist Studios during Fort Point Open Studios with our interactive Explorer challenge! Visitors collect unique studio stickers as they explore the building, earning entries toward special artist-created prizes. The more studios you visit, the better your chances—top explorers will qualify for our prize drawing, with one grand prize painting and other exciting rewards to follow. Discover art, meet the makers, and see how far you can go as the Ultimate Midway Explorer! Challenge developed by Taylor Coughlin.

The All Stars Mini Art Mart is a reimagined vending machine that dispenses limited-edition art cards designed by Danny Rosenberg and Krina Patel. Each card is made to be held, shared, and discovered.

Kick off your Open Studios weekend with a touch of spooky creativity! Join artist Taylor Coughlin @taylorcoughlinart for Boos & Brushes, a beginner-friendly Halloween-themed painting workshop. In this paint-along session, you’ll create your own 8×10 canvas masterpiece while enjoying a playful, seasonal atmosphere! Limited spots — only room for 8!

The Extra Ordinary Art Hunt

Join the Extra Ordinary Art Hunt, where you are invited to explore your surroundings to reveal hidden elements of art. Gather your finds, then return to the Art Station at Midway Studios to share your artwork. The first 25 visitors on Saturday, Oct. 18 and Sunday Oct. 19 will work with artist Krina Patel to create a mini artwork to take with them.

Join Boston Lyric Opera for a sneak peek at a new all-ages performance: “Opera on Tour: Daughter of the Regiment”, a one-act English-language adaptation of Donizetti’s beloved comic opera about a girl who grows up in a military regiment. Two singers, an actor, and a pianist will bring the entire story to life with singing, staging, and narration that will engage audiences in an interactive introduction to opera. Stay afterwards to share your thoughts with BLO staff as we develop this piece for spring tours to Boston-area schools, libraries, and cultural organizations. All ages are welcome; recommended especially for ages 5 and up. Seating is general admission, first-come, first-served.

“Tales of a Reluctant World Traveler” with Randy Ross: 40-minute, multimedia performance that is part travelogue, part comedy, and part off-kilter author talk. Sixteen weeks, four continents, three bungee jumps, and I couldn’t come home soon enough. How a Boston homebody turned a solo trip around the globe into a comedy novel and an acclaimed one-man, “laugh-out-loud funny” show.
